Looking at this painting in the light of the Mayonnaise jar! one, it is just interesting to see the consistency of basic form & color. IMO...simplicity with depth...

I had a love affair with walnut oil stand base in this phase of it all... instead of the usual linseed oil. It was a major development so I stuck to simplicity in the subject while I figured out the new medium... have you been there to Nantucket?
Not Nantucket, but Marblehead, near (or in?) Boston...I remember narrow, winding cobblestone and sailboats docked right outside where I was staying...rocking gently on dark waters at night time...
